  Alpine Valley Ski Resort

website: Alpine Valley
- Alpine Valley Ski Resort
Alpine Valley is a nice and quiet ski resort with a whole lot to offer. Even though they don’t really have that much terrain they still have many different chair lifts to speed the process up. They have a detachable quad that takes you to the top. Since the new management came in they have put effort into making it a better place to be at. The beginning terrain is perfect for any new comers to the sport. They have many places for lodging and food facilities.

Renting equipment is easy with there high tech skis/snowboards. If lessons are necessary they are available with the most outgoing instructors. Milwaukee is just a hop skip and a jump from this ski resort. They do not really have a terrain park or a halfpipe. This mountain is the best for beginners. Advanced skiers will have a good time but not as good as it should be when you are that good at this sport.

  • Other Features:
    • Begginer Resort
    • Family Oriented

Alpine Valley Ski Resort The short…overpriced and poorly managed. The long…Alpine Valley is one of the few options available for downhill skiing in Southeast Wisconsin. Although this hill is half Mother Nature and half man made, it has fairly decent terrain for the area. A couple black runs and a terrain park for the adventurous offer the only highlights here. All runs are pretty much identical to each other and are mostly for the beginner to intermediate. Last weekend was my first trip to the resort and will most likely by my last. Driving into the parking lot promptly at opening on a Saturday, I was surprised to find the place packed. The local junior racing league was holding a meet, which did not happed to be posted on the resort website the day before. Only after getting on the chair lift did I notice that two of the main runs were closed and off limits for this. It wouldn’t be such a big deal (it is junior racing after all), but it closed most of the hill that had any decent terrain. After an hour and a half the parking lot was full and the only black run left open was too packed to enjoy any more. I packed up and issued a formal complaint with management, only to be told I should have checked the website and that they did not have any control over the portions of the hill closed. ?? On top of this, they had the boldness to charge the full price of $39 per lift ticket. If driving an extra hour or two to a better resort is out of the question, make sure to call for any events before you make the trip, otherwise settle for sledding in your back yard.
