South Vermont - Stratton Mountain Resort
Stratton Mountain has a wide range runs, terrain park and halfpipe. They do offer a good skiing and snowboarding experience, but Stratton ski resort is the most expensive ski resort in Vermont and the runs are not the most challenging. Killington ski resort offer is a better ski resort if you are planning to spend $70 on a lift ticket.
At Stratton, there is the great Slopeside village, a beautiful town filled with activities, and even has a club. The people in the town are lovely and the atmosphere is very friendly. This place is good for skiers, giving you a chance to really enjoy your day and night of skiing with the whole commercial aspect of it.

Skiing at Stratton - I skied at Stratton for the first time today, and I have to say that for a Holiday Week, it was not that bad! People must think there is no snow, haha on them!
The snow was excellent most of the day, and all of the black runs were darn near empty. I would hesitate to call them Black, though.....even by Eastern standards, they are more like the Blues everywhere else. Nothing was overly challenging.
In fact, we never went on a green run at all and did one blue warm up and said, "Hey.......nobody on Black, those are where we want to be!" It lives up to it's nickname......Flatten......and at the top of the hill where all the lifts converge, you need to pole from place to place as the top is Totally Flat. That was the worst thing about it.
Second worst was the fact that a water main broke and the only running restroom was at the top and mid-mountain, but they were working on that all day.
Anyone can look like a hero here. Easy runs, wide runs and nice rollers make it interesting. If not for the price of a pass ($72 holiday rate!), I'd ski there more.
