On any given day Deer Valley ski resort will only allow a certain number of skiers on the mountain (NO SNOWBOARDERS ALLOWED) and when that point is reached then they will not sell any more lift tickets. This might be frustrating to some, but if you are in the group that made it to Deer Valley on time you will find that you have the ski resort all to yourself. There is over 90 runs and most of it is classified for intermediate skiers. They have huge stone fireplaces in the lodge, this is always warm and has great refreshments. The only downfall is that snowbaoarders are not allowed, but skiers sure will have a fun time cruising down the mountain without having to worry about snowboarders sitting in the middle of the run.
There is enough lodging and restaurants really close to Deer Valley ski resort which makes it ideal for a . Deer Valley ski resorts caters for the generation of skiers that can afford $74 lift ticket, expect valet parking, enjoy well groomed runs and open space to take their time coming down the mountain. Skiing at Deer Valley - Sure, Deer Valley has a reputation for being snooty, with gold faucets and marble in the bathrooms in the on-hill restrooms, but if you want spoiling, you’ve got it.
It’s got the terrain, the snow, great grooming, fantastic food, interesting trails, the valet parking….it’s all good. However, it’s just as good around the corner at Brighton, Solitude, Alta, Snowbird and a dozen other places, and less expensive and pretentious, so if you’re into throwing money off the chair on your ride to powder, this is your ride. Frankly, “It ain’t all that.” Worth an experience, but I wouldn’t make it a habit. Bonni
Skiiing at Deer Valley - Ah… the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Must be nice to get valet parking, hot cocoa in the ski line, and excellent service. Mark
Skiing at Deer Valley - I have always respected this ski area primarily because of their environmental commitment that they have maintained over the years. The mountain consistently receives tons of pow and was rated as the number one ski area in the US this year by ski magazine. I have always enjoyed going up there and skiing all the trees that the predominantly intermediate level crowd invariably leaves fresh and endless for me. It has been known for a long time that very few ski areas have as comprehensive of a grooming system as Deer Valley which means you can go fast! It always seems as though there's an open run waiting for you to open up and feel the wind flap your cheeks. The four mountains seem to divide into each classification of skier, and the advanced slopes are almost always wide open and the Cottonwood canyons are simply a stone's throw away. People commonly enjoy doing long days of touring between Alta and Deer Valley.
