Mountain Ski Resort
If you live in the Pennsylvania area and prefer a little bit more vertical, check out Blue Mountain. This is the closest mountain to Philadelphia. It has a vertical drop of 1083 feet, which is the highest in the entire state of Pennsylvania. Seven lifts service the 25 trails. 39 percent of the trails are green, 32 percent are blue, and 29 percent are black. Blue Mountain has one terrain park and one half pipe. Blue Mountain was once a skiers’ only mountain, but has recently lifted its ban on snowboarders. It is popular with people who enjoy wide open cruisers.
