Sandia Peak Ski Area Snowboard New Mexico - Ski Rio Resort
The vibe you get from Rio ski resort is that it is very nice and it offers a lot of different things. The skiing here is amazing and you are sure to find a good time here. This is a bigger resort, so its nice compared to most of the resorts in New Mexico which are smaller. The lodge has tons to offer from ski rentals to lunch. Tons of space here makes it easier to get around when the crowds show up. Most of the acres is for intermediate skiers. But advanced skiers will find that a lot of the runs for the intermediates will be entertaining enough to enjoy your time here.

Lodging is as easy as you want to make it with hotels and motels nearby and also there are cabins that you can look into also. There is not much nightlife so if you just like to go get a good day of skiing in this is the place to go. There are tons of runs, tons of lifts and its open to tons of skiing. The views of this resort are impeccable and very unexplainable.

  • Other Features:
    • 1140 skiable acres
    • Beautiful views

Skiing Rio - This mountain is known for its solitude, but not many people are aware that it is so easily accessible from southern Colorado that, for many communities in the region it is the best value for miles. Located deep in the Carson National Forest, the mountain is staffed by the unique populous for Costilla, New Mexico. The summit has views of the Rio Grande Gorge slicing through a 7,000 foot high valley beneath purple sunset-framing volcanoes that are a hundred miles in circumference. The mountain has recorded long seasons with more than 450” commonly, in years that gave Pajarito less than 200”, so you’re very likely to catch it with some nice snow. As for terrain, the vertical is formidable by the standards of any state and the trees are perfectly spaced throughout the resort. Joey Smallwood
