Snowboard New Mexico - Pajarito Ski Resort
This is a spectacular resort perfect for anyone interested in a great day of skiing. The terrain is very all around for every type of skier. This resort is hidden so it does not get the crowds that you would expect it to. The back-country is something that should be checked out. Pajarito is a smaller ski resort with less of skiable acres to offer. Ruidoso is the town closest to this resort and it’s about a 20 minute drive and this is where to find restaurants, cabins and motels/hotels. There is one terrain park so snowboarders can get there moves on.
The snow here is real light sometimes, so make sure you check before planning your vacation here. The people here will knock you off your feet. They are all so friendly and all go out of there way to keep there customers happy. The base lodge is where you will find a great place to relax with there food prices very inexpensive. This mountain is only open some days of the week so you might want to check on that also.

Skiing Pajarito - Originally developed as a place for scientists to ski when they weren't developing the atomic bomb, Pajarito ski area is a unique palace in the pines that overlooks the multicolored Rio Grande rift valley. Every run is steep, and I can even quote my hero, Glen Plake, saying so. The snow of course it dry as a bone, and since it is hidden deep in the Jemez mountains near the tiny city of Los Alamos, the crowds stay away. This ensures deep powder skiing for everybody that comes. The backside of it is illegal, I'm pretty sure, so don't tell anyone I told you about it- but it's phenomenal and a short hike off of the top chairlift. From the bottom is another story. Pajarito, along with her stunning views and dry powder, has tons of varied terrain and a wonderful ambiance of wild isolation... just ask Dean Cummings, who grew up skiing Pajarito..
