Showdown Mountain Ski Resort is 8 miles from Neihart. This place makes you feel at home. Not too crowded, great staff to assist you, cheap tickets and great terrain. The rental shop folks are the best. They are always friendly and help you find the best equipment for your skill level. The trees are the best. There is so much untouched powder at this resort. Lodging is very limited, so be prepared and make reservations.

This is a really small resort, but you won’t be unhappy. There are some other big city things you can't find in White Sulphur Springs as well as night life. There are restaurants and the lodge will fulfill most of your necessities. The terrain is rounded out for all types of skiers, with about the same amount for every type. If you are looking for a nice getaway this is the place to go.
