website: Dicovery Basin Ski Resort
- Dicovery Basin Ski Resort This resort is 20 miles from Anaconda. Most of the terrain here is for intermediate and expert skiers. The back of the mountain is mainly where the double black diamonds are. They also have area for beginning and advanced. There is about 5 km of cross country skiing. They have light powder, the lines for chair lifts are always short, and the tickets are very cheap. This is a great place to ski. If you are coming to go to the shops and restaurants, this really is not the resort to go to. They do have restaurants but they are not the top of the line.
There are rental shops and the staff are very friendly. Discovery Bay also has a beautiful lodge at the bottom of the mountain. This is a great place to refresh for lunch and stay warm. They also have an outside deck for people to smell the freshness of the snow while you chow down. There are many hotels, motels in the local towns that are very close by.
