Ripley Ski Area
This resort is one of the smallest resorts in Michigan. With only 11 trails and 2 lifts you are bound to be able to get most of this resort done in a half day. The terrain is nice but is really aimed for beginners/intermediate skiers. If you are coming here to learn this is the place for you, you will definitely find this resort to be home. There is also a cafeteria with food that is alright but is pricy. So maybe bringing a lunch would be a good idea. This resort is really close to the campus, so they do provide a bus that will take students here. The prices are very reasonable. They even give students a discount for going to school.
They stay open late every night and when it is necessary they turn the lights on. This resort is nice for a local resort. It never gets busy and usually the snow conditions are fair. Every kind of lodging is offered with cabins, vacation homes, hotels, and motels.
