New Hermon Ski area is located in Hermon, Maine, just a few miles from Bangor. Although it describes itself as a family resort, don't let the family atmosphere fool you. Hermon has some fun and challenging runs to choose from. The three main trails are Cloudnine, Scenic and Lakeview. They head straight down the fall line. The rest of the trails are classic narrow, New England style runs with a variety of dips, turns and pitches. Beginners will feel comfortable on Slowpoke and Lazylane. More advanced skiers will prefer Cloudnine, Jammer, Snake and a number of other black diamond trails. There is a terrain park on Lakeview with a variety of different elements. Snowmaking covers the majority of the trails and the grooming is excellent. Hermon offers night skiing six days a week, and a tubing park which is also lit. The season usually lasts from mid-December to late March.
