Snowboard Maine - Squaw Mountain Ski Area
Big Squaw Mountain is located in the Moosehead Lake region town of Greenville, Maine. Because of its remote the trails and lifts rarely gets crowded. Big Squaw has a diverse variety of terrain. The mountain is split into two major areas: the Upper and Lower mountains.
The triple chair in the Lower Mountain services mostly beginner and intermediate terrain. Novices will love the long gentle run down Fitzgerald or Squaw Brook. Intermediates will enjoy Kennebec and Allagash and a variety of other trails on the Lower mountain area. The Upper Mountain is the double chair area. Advanced and expert skiers will have a blast on trails like St. Croix, which is a classic, narrow New England style run. Advanced intermediate and expert skiers will have fun on the East Branch and Penobscot trails, which have some of the best views in New England
Although Big Squaw has 70% snowmaking, the Upper Mountain is all natural snow. The season at Big Squaw lasts from late-November to early-April.
