Skiing Chestnut Mountain - Skiing at Chestnut requires tough elbows and a desire to stand in line. I've
been there about 5 times, and each time I spend most of that time standing in
line.
It's crowded on the green and blue runs, so if you can ski black runs with
double fall lines, you can find some space. It's saving grace is the
magnificent view of the Mississippi river.
Given the choice between Sundown and Chestnut, two areas close to each other,
I'd go to Sundown. Granted, there is lodging right at the hill, and it's nice,
but the skiing is below par. Bonni 06
Skiing at Chestnut is excellent. It has been consistently ranked in ski
magazines top ten. I live in Dubuque Iowa and would rather drive the extra 20
minutes than to Ski at sundown -
