- Silver Mountain Ski Resort
Silver Mountain Ski Resort is one of the biggest resorts in Idaho, with a great reputation. It is accessible from anywhere in Idaho and is ready for you to come. Fabulous snow, fabulous people and short quick lines make it an exciting mountain. One special feature in Silver Mountain is that there is a gondola where you can see the whole mountain.
You don’t have to rush to get to great powder snow although the ski classes offered make sure you are always ready to go early in the morning. There are a variety of runs, 67 in all, that make for a brilliant ski resort. Everybody whether advanced, intermediate or beginner will find the perfect run at Silver Mountain ski resort. The staff is friendly and positive and ready to teach you what you need to know.

Skiing Silver Mountain - What can you say about a resort where you get off I-90, park at the bottom and take a gondola 3 miles to the ski area? Absolutely everything!
This excellent mountain is one choice for great skiing at a great price for the Western Washington/Idaho area. The beginner area has a rope tow and is short and narrow compared to other mountains, but the green runs near it are long and wide (perhaps a little too long for real newbies). Most of the ‘greens’ here are just cat tracks that have other runs dumping into them, so beginners beware! Ross’ Run, under the gondola, is the best place for beginners to be practicing.
Advanced skiers can hike Wardner peak for their turns or take some runs off of Chair 4. It gets a little windblown, but worth the effort.
This is one of my favorite resorts as it hasn’t got a crowd problem…….yet. A years visitors at Silver is equal to the number of people who ski Wachussett, MA in a weekend…… do the math. Uncrowded and simple, and sure to be a favorite of yours, too.
