Woodbury Ski Area
Woodbury ski resort is very small and there equipment is not up to date what so ever. It is about 90 minutes from New York City. One cool thing about Woodbury ski resort is the preseason skiing, they always seem to be the first ones to open. However, business usually slows down during the season due to lack of customers and snow. The season does not last long or go on long because the snow never seems to come. If you can pass this resort up that might be a good idea. Just stay on your toes and keep posted on the weather conditions at all times.
There is about 20 km of cross country terrain. This is a nice way to get a good exercise Connecticut. Any aspiring extreme skiers or boarders will be happy to hear that they have have a quarter pipe & terrain park. Woodbury could really use some TLC and more workers. It seems that they are really understaffed and that they do not put the customers first. You can still get a good day of skiing if you do not come across needing anything.

Skiing at Woodbury - This tiny hill is good for one thing only, preseason terrain park skiing and riding. The mountain itself is as big as some new englanders back yards. The one and only chair lift is horribly slow and takes more time getting up to the summit then to the base. Conditions are usually horrible here because it honestly does not get too much business. The owner/managers of Woodbury are very nice people though, and will do anything they can to make sure you are having a good time. If you absolutely have to get on some snow and you cannot drive, have your mother drop you off here, slide some rails and call it a night. As stated before, Woodbury opens preseason before any other east coast mountain. In the 2004 season Woodbury was one of the first resorts to open in North America alone. If it is Early November go to Woodbury, other than that save your money in the early season and head somewhere else. Patrick
