Sundown Ski Area
Sundown Ski resort has a lot to offer if you are really into skiing. To start off night skiing is one of the big things here which offers a 9 to 5'ers a chance for beautiful and fun night in Connecticut skiing. The terrain parks are exceptional and the jumps they have are enough to make any intermediate extreme skier or boarder enjoy there time here. For how small of a mountain is the tickets are pricy, but on a sunny winter day in Connecticut you will not find a better ski resort. and you feel welcome. Beginners enjoy that the beginning part of the mountain is easy to learn how to ski/board on. The lessons that they give are awesome and they also have rentals.
The atmosphere is very homey, with the ski lodge being the perfect place to kick back and relax. They have just put decent amount of carpet in here to make it warmer. If you like skiing you truly will enjoy the run called the Gun Barrel. There is lodging right around the corner and is very easy to find. Just remember this is another small Connecticut ski resort so take it for what it is worth.

Skiing at Sundown - Quite possibly one of the best things to ever happen to Connecticut. With 65 skiable acres, Ski Sundown is a great place to go for the day if you can’t get up to Vermont or New Hampshire. The night skiing is great, and gives the 9-5’ers the opportunity to hit the slopes after a tough day at the office. But, what really has given sundown its name are the grade A terrain parks, that you would never expect from this small hill. The park is ran by a busy working park crew and head park guy college graduate Jarred aka Fluff. They are one of the most hardworking crews I've seen seen, period. This year the main park has been moved to a better location on the hill, and new features are going in left and right. Sundown offers a park that 9 out of 10 mountains across the country don’t. If you want to ride some of the newest rails never seen anywhere else like the 40 foot spatula rail followed by a 30 foot booter this place is for you. Lift tickets may be a little pricey at $43, but trust me, when you see how mint the parks are, you know where your money has went to. Check it out, and you will see exactly what everyone else around Connecticut has been talking about. Patrick
