Mount Southington Ski Area
Mount Southington is a good ski area for intermediates to practice. There is good value in the fact that they offer cheaper lift ticket and uncrowded lift lines. If you are coming with a big group do not miss out on the excellent group rates. The terrain here can be challenging at times with small cliffs that drop off some of the main trails, so make sure you read the signs before you go down anything. If you find yourself in trouble the ski patrol make sure to take care of you.
Mount Southington ski resort is known for good for night skiing. With bright lights and an open mind, night skiing is very entertaining. Coming here to practice your moves or just to chill out with some friends are good reasons to come here. The lodge is worth taking a break in, the food is scrumptious and there is not a better way to relax. In Connecticut there still are better ski resorts out there, keep on driving to Ski Sundown if Mount Southington ski resort is not for you.

Skiing at Southington - With its 50 rideable acres, 23 trails, and 4 lifts Mount Southington is a good mountain for night skiing, and days when Vermont is just not happening. Its $37 lift tickets are only worth it on a nice sunny day or a warmer night. Out of all of the Connecticut mountains I felt Mount Southington had more difficult terrain . There are small cliffs you can drop off some of the main trails, and more of a black diamond feel than any other CT mountain. Do not go to Mount Southington for terrain park skiing and riding, you will just be disappointed. Mount Southington is a good hill if you wanna work on switch riding and just having fun with your friends. The artificial lights seemed to be very good though and brighten up the place alot, and that made me happy for the rest of the night. Patrick
