- Sunlight Mountain Resort
Sunlight Mountain Resort is a beautiful resort, with big trees & good powder. Although it's a smaller then some of the famous Colorado ski resorts, its skiing is just as good if not better. The staff really makes sure your stay here wonderful. They have an equipment rental store, Snow and Board Education Center, two terrain parks, and a shuttle bus. The terrain parks are awesome, with great jumps, rails and trails.
The lift ticket is cheap and the lines are short. Sunlight is quite small, that is the only downfall and some guests, find it not big enough for them. There are many hotels nearby in Glenwood Springs.

Skiing at Sunlight - Sunlight is a secret I'm not too sure if I should disclose, but here it is anyway. It is located just north of Aspen and is the place to go for preserved powder, smiling lifties, and even challenging steeps. The terrain park expands every year and always has fun gaps and table tops, and even its riders are without an attitude. This is where people go to escepe the seriousness and crowded groomers of Aspen so that they can safely deflate their egos, which helps with the view. Not many people know this, but it is actually Sunlight ski area that has the steepest run in the whole state, and it often gets storms that blow around summit county. In fact that was the reason I went there two years ago for the second time. I was staying at the hostel in Aspen and word had it that Snowmass had received four inches, while Sunlight got fourteen. It was an obvious choice and no sacrifice was made terrain-wise.
