Skiing at SolVista - (formerly known as Silver Creek) - SolVista ski area is one of the finest places there is near Denver to learn to ski. Located in between Winter Park on US 40, I once lived two miles to the south. My daily plan was to ski Winter Park and Berthoud Pass in the daytime and then go to SolVista for night skiing, since they were kind enough to honor a pass from the other mountains in the region. The perfectly spaced, low-angle aspen trees that abound in the area are perfect to ski through because there are no branches to block the lights and speed control is a very minor issue. I have many wonderful reasons to thank them for stretching powder day after powder day for me and the good people of Grand County. My mother and family would like to thank them for offering the lowest priced lift tickets in the area as well as the ideal combination of sun, snow, and terrain for a developing skier. Joey Smallwood
