- Loveland Ski Resort If you long for the days when skiing was more about the sport and its participants, and less about condo sales and glamour, you will surely fall in love with Loveland. Located 53 miles west of Denver and 12 miles east of Summit County, Loveland is considered to be one of Colorado’s best kept secrets. Its free parking is close to the lifts and ticket windows, and its lift prices and season’s passes are a great value. Loveland is usually one of the first areas to open and one of the last areas to close. As a result, its ski season often lasts from October to June. While Loveland is known for its steeps and deep powder, rest assured that there is terrain for everyone’s abilities! The staff at Loveland is genuinely friendly and personable.
If you become a regular, the staff even learns your name!
If you are new to skiing or riding, you are eligible to receive the deal of the century. A Lesson Package for $64 gives you a 2 ½ hour lesson, a lift ticket and equipment rental. Purchase 3 full lesson packages and receive a free season’s pass! How cool is that? Even better, beginner lessons are given in Loveland Valley. This area is separated from the rest of the mountain, so you need not worry about advanced skiers and riders zooming past you.
Intermediates can also benefit from this deal. The Adult Intermediate Pass gives you three lessons and a season’s pass for $331. If you are not sure that you will want the pass, pay $77 for each lesson, then $100 for the pass.
Early season lift tickets are $38, and regular season tickets are $50. You can also purchase the Loveland Pass Card for $34. You get a free lift ticket on the first and fifth day that ski, as well as other discounts.

Skiing at Loveland - expert - Until last season, my impression of Loveland Ski Area was much alike that held by most of my friends: it was a place to ski ridiculously early, well before anything else in America was open. As a result I always correlated the mountain's experience to skiing on a patch of ice surrounded by dirt. That all changed last early march, however, when I was delighted to find the entire mountain open and covered in over two feet of snow that had fallen within the past twenty four hours. The car came out of the dark Eisenhower Tunnel and was blasted with sun drenched white glowing snow and bluebird skies. I was shocked to find pitch after pitch after pitch of quality faces. Although they were all a bit shorter than this big mountain skier would have hoped for them to be, I found the fall lines and consistency of the pitches to be more than agreeable our-pants amazing views, I found this place lives well up to its name as a Coloradoan's local resort. Skiin at Loveland - There is just exceptional beauty to this ski resort. When you are here you feel so refreshed by the glistening snow. This resort is known for the beginner runs. Loveland does not offer any condos or hotels. They really only have a cafeteria and a ticket booth. But if you are going to just ski, this is the place to do it. They do also offer lessons, the instructors are awesome. The weather is usually beautiful, but word of advice, wear warm clothes it tends to get really chilly at the top of the mountain.
Loveland ski resort has great snow, great scenic vistas, and varied terrain at all skill levels at a price you can afford. I think Loveland will more than meet your expectations. The terrain park is awesome also. There are many jumps and rails. They also offer a children program called the Polar Explorers. This resort is a little small for a Colorado ski resort. A day would be more than enough time to ski all of Loveland. Nicole
