Mammoth Mountain ski resort at Mammoth Village
Along with June Mountain, Mammoth Mountain is the futhest to get to on the eastern side of the high sierras of California. It is three hours south of Lake Tahoe and 3 hours from Bakersfield. People from the south especially LA have made Mammouth mountain their favorite ski resort. The great size of the mountain and its vistor friendly vilage make it the most exotic california ski resort. Above the tree lines the Mammouth ski resort offers the most open Skiing in California.
This place is great for the intermediate skier. Mammoth has enough ski area for every type of skier, because this place is absolutely huge! They have cross-country skiing and also snowmobiling if snowboarding or skiing isn’t your thing. The people here are very friendly. This place tends to get busy over the holidays and the weekends. The terrain park is nice and big. The lift lines were not busy at all. They have a couple lodges on the mountain. One at the top and one by chair J7. Both of them were awesome. This place is very family oriented.

Skiing at Mammoth Mountain - Not only is it a wonderful scenic area the skiing was utterly tremendous. This place has tons to offer for everyone. The beauty alone can capture one’s heart. You truly have a different experience here, one that you would never have again. There runs are wide and beautiful. They have many chairlifts to reach every point of the mountain. There food is excellent; this is one of my favorite places to be.
The atmosphere is warm and pleasant. Not once do you feel out of place or uncomfortable. This place a lot to offer for every range of skier. Whether you are awesome at skiing or just there to learn.
The staff is very helpful and will get you anything you need.
The best time to come here is during the week, not on a holiday. This place does tend to get pretty busy do to the fact of the majestic beauty. Skiers and Snowboarders of all types are seen here on a regular basis.
Skiing at Mammouth - I am an expert snowboarder, but i wanted to teach my girlfriend how to ski so i took up skiing at mammouth. The mountain is masive and so i missed out on a lot the steeps bieng on skies for the first time in 12 years and teaching someone. The beginner runs we went on were perfect for teaching and were designed to be windey and fun. Let just say that the rest of the mountain looked like it would be just as fun but it would be hard for anyone to get to all of it in one day.
I also need mention Mammouth village is beuteful, what a great little village with free public transportation, i felt like i was in the european alps. Just great. If you live in california make sure to visit this great mountain and do so for at least a week long trip, trust me you won't want to leave.
