  Heavenly Ski Resort

website: Ski Heavenly
- - Lake Tahoe Ski Resorts - Heavenly ski resort
This ski resort is exactly like its name, Heavenly. The first stop on the Gondola is Café Blue. Anyone can find something they like to eat at this café, and you don’t even have to be skiing or snowboarding. There are 4 new terrain parks open as of the 2007-2008 season. They are really cool for people looking to do some really wicked tricks. The resort’s layout is well done; there is enough room for every type of skier. Everyone at every discipline and level will be pleased skiing at Heavenly. Another facet of the Heavenly experience is the great night life, so maybe while you are in town after a long hard day of skiing/snowboarding unwind at a local bar or restaurant or even try your luck at one of the casinos.

At this big mountain, there is no doubt that the skiing at Heavenly is also big. The terrain is diverse and the magnitude of the resort itself leaves the average skier unable to even complete a third of the magnificent mountain. The major problem at Heavenly is the long lines. It is a great place for novice to intermediate, and for the more advanced skier, it is best to ask some of the locals about the best spots. Since being bought out by Vail resorts there has been a noticeable effort for improvement to the overall experience.

Skiing at Heavenly - Heavenly Valley is just that, "heavenly." It's an amazing resort that offers skiers and snowboarders not only challenging slopes but a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains. Heavenly is huge and spread out which means it can be a bit daunting for neophytes and families. Its size and the area that it covers, both in California and Nevada, provide an amazing variety of slopes to choose from, but a map is a must.

One can ski/ride between the two states on an exciting run across the mountains. There is a mogul face for experts and well groomed bowls and trails for intermediate skiers and riders. Though there are a few runs for the novices, I wouldn't recommend Heavenly Valley for the beginner.

Another thing to look out for are the different lifts that dot the mountainside. Some of them are high speed lifts while others are slow and seem to take a long time, though one can enjoy the beauty and serenity of this lovely area on the trip back up to the top. The best part of the day is taking the trail all the way back from Nevada to California as it winds around the mountain, through the trees. Monica

Snowboarding at Heavenly - Expert snowboarder - overall rating good - Snowboarding at heavenly was a great experience. I have been snowboarding for years at different places around lake tahoe but never heavenly, and i am glad i tried it out. A bit expensive and lots of people on the slopes was my first impression, but the lines were short becuase of all the high speed lifts, the views are amazing and great runs. It is easy to get lost on the mountain so stick together. I'll be back but on a weekday with a discount coupon. Jad (Lake Tahoe CA)

Heavenly Ski Resort - in Lake Tahoe has gained the reputation of being the place to ski among hardcore skiers. This resort sits on the Nevada/ California Border. The amount of lifts is crazy. There is a gondola, oh and only about 30 other lifts! It is California’s largest resort at a little under 5,000 acres of terrain to ski. The place has 4 terrain parks. There is also plenty in terms of bars, restaurants, and hotels right next door in Lake Tahoe. For expert skiers, you will want to head to Face, Gunbarrel, or Eastbowl. Mark
