Snowboarding at Bear Valley - ski resort is always a fun experience as there are few crowds and a friendly atmosphere. My friends who are beginner-going-on-intermediate had a great time on the groomed runs that have a good mix of hills and turns. My buddy Dave Larson and I enjoyed the lower mountain bowl of diamonds and double diamonds, few trees in sight, powder was flying everywhere. When the lower mountain gets dumped on, Bear Valley skiing or snowboarding is the best. It is hard to beat the short lift lines and powder galore on a Sunday!

The snow park on the backside of the mountain is good, but not too much, the beginner’s park is safe for learning, similar to the well shaped half pipe which lacks vertical drop. If you get the chance there is a boarder-cross run to practice on.

Bear Valley snow has a lot to offer for advanced skiers and riders, make sure to wait until this place gets a major storm and take advantage of the lower mountain. Another advantage is the short lift lines.

For families, skiing at Bear is very convenient with a food court and bar overlooking the bunny slopes. Visitors can ski into Bear Valley Village, a quiet little town that has some comfortable places to stay.

Skiing at Bear Valley - I've lived in Bear Valley and skied here all my life, too. I ski race so I've also skied almost every resort in California, and other places too. Bear Valley is a good ski resort with lots of variety and tuns of potential. Expert skiers need to check out our lower mountain, it's amazing.
